1) I stumbled upon the midomi site back in januari 2007 , and I thought it was an interesting concept so I decided to sign up =)
2) I tend to pick songs that are currently stuck on my mind, usually I have a different song each day that I come to think of every now and then.
3) It varies, but never too late at night cause I think my neighbours gets enough of me during the days.
4) Usually I don’t practice long at all, but on some recordings I do a couple of takes before I’m satisfied.
5) If I don’t know the lyrics to a song, I go to www.letssingit.com to check it out. That’s a good page to get lyrics.
And my guitar playing is just worked out by ear.
6) Hmm the knack of singing? You mean like what’s the secret? I just love to play and sing, and I think everyone that feels the same should
let the world hear us raise our voices!
7) zBlade deserves an interview!
8 ) I think the first idea with midomi was not to have instruments and background music in renditions, only acapella singing.
But I ignored that right off the bat and started to play my guitar on everything I recorded. I’m sure some others did the same aswell
even though back then it was rare to find renditions that also featured a guitar or any other instrument to backup the singing. But we can see now that
it has become very popular to have even kareoke music in the background. So I say be creative, if you know how to play a little guitar, give it a try!
Or record your own voice and then play it in the background while recording your voice again to get a harmony effect =) I’ve used that technique on
some of my recent recordings.
9) My favorite band is “Bad Religion”, a band thats been around for almost 30 years now. There frontman Greg Graffin is my idol and biggest inspiration!
10) Just keep up the good work =)
